Things to do at the villa

a. Car
Anzac Villa comes with the exclusive use of a Toyota Estima, seating 7 passengers, to use at your disposal. See here for more info.

b. Petanque pitch
We built the petanque pitch as close to regulation size as we could given the area available.  We used sand to level out the area and to provide appropriate drainage, and topped the pitch with ‘regulation’ beach shell.  Therefore, no excuses for not winning!

Our neighbours and other island residents love to play the game and have admitted to calling it ‘Plonc’ in honour of what they drink prior, during and following a match . . .

c. Fire pit
The fire pit can be moved around outside depending on where you wish to enjoy the warmth of the fire.  Just be sure not to put it close to flammable objects!  Wood for the fire can be found under the front porch near the pohutukawa tree.

j. Fishing
Anzac Bay, and the waters surrounding the Island, is teaming with fish waiting to be caught.  On a recent trip home to Waiheke, we caught snapper, trevally and even a rather large octopus!  In the shed you will find 3 fishing rods and 4 fishing stools and bait can be purchased at the local convenience store at the top of the hill or at Woolworths in Ostend.  We recommend using pilchards or squid.

What to bring
There isn’t much one needs to bring to Anzac Villa that can’t be found on location or in the shops nearby.  We recommend that you bring beach towels, toiletries, sunblock and a camera.
